Yrēfy & Jazz Day AZ Join Forces

Reuniting to Provide Solutions When Schools Close

The CEO of Yrēfy and the Executive Director of the International Jazz Day AZ Foundation have joined forces to deliver practical solutions for music teachers and programs affected by school closures across Arizona.

Building on a successful past collaboration, this partnership supports music educators through paid after-school and community-based instruction, allowing teachers to continue working with students when schools can no longer fund music programs.

As school closures increase, music is often the first program to be eliminated. This initiative focuses on continuity—keeping teachers teaching and students learning—by using jazz festivals and cultural events to generate sustainable funding, reducing reliance on grants alone.

Together, Yrēfy and the International Jazz Day AZ Foundation are ensuring that when schools close, music education doesn’t.
