Who is this program for?
This program is for music teachers affected by school closures, reduced programs, or funding cuts, especially those who want to continue working with their students outside the traditional school day.
Do I have to be a jazz teacher to participate?
No. While our foundation is rooted in jazz, we support music educators of all disciplines, including general music, band, orchestra, choir, and beginner instruction.
Is this a paid opportunity?
Yes. When programs are available, teachers are paid for their time and instruction. We believe teachers deserve fair compensation for their work.
What kind of teaching opportunities are available?
Opportunities may include:
- After-school music programs
- Community-based instruction
- Small group or ensemble coaching
- Beginner or continuation classes for displaced students
Programs are developed based on teacher interest, student need, and available funding.
Where do classes take place?
Programs may be held at:
- Community centers
- Partner schools
- Libraries
- Churches or nonprofit spaces
- Event-related venues tied to our festivals
We work to find safe, accessible locations for teachers and students.
How many hours or weeks does a program run?
Programs typically run in short-term cycles (8–12 weeks). We start small and grow responsibly as funding allows.
Is this a long-term contract or guaranteed work?
No. We are transparent about the fact that opportunities depend on funding generated through festivals, sponsorships, and partnerships. There are no guaranteed long-term contracts, but teachers may be invited to participate in future programs.
