The Jazz Town USA Cause

Jazz Town USA addresses a critical gap at the intersection of workforce housing, arts, and community development. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many professional musicians and music educators—essential contributors to the creative economy—lost their primary sources of income and faced housing instability. This crisis revealed a broader systemic issue: artists and educators are often excluded from traditional workforce housing models despite providing essential cultural and educational services to our communities.

Jazz Town USA was created to provide stable, affordable housing for income-qualified musicians, music educators, and creative workers, consistent with HUD-supported workforce housing objectives. By integrating housing with creative and educational spaces, the project supports housing stability, economic resilience, and neighborhood revitalization.

Aligned with public arts funding priorities, Jazz Town USA recognizes artists as workers, educators, and cultural assets. The initiative preserves cultural legacy, supports arts education pipelines, and leverages the arts as a tool for economic development, placemaking, and community well-being.

Jazz Town USA is a sustainable housing solution that invests in people, strengthens communities, and advances equitable access to housing through the arts.
